Scarcity mindset is a HUUUUGE distraction from the actual work of bringing the big bucks into your business.
Funny story (ok it wasn't at the time, but hindsight's a helluva thing), I was pet sitting in Mexico + Costa Rica in the worst period of scarcity in my life (but I was in the tropics, surrounded by dogs so life wasn't too shabby).
Luckily I could live on $20 a week over there because pet sitting gave me a free roof over my head in exotic locations.
I was creating online courses and putting them out to sell.
A couple of people would buy it.
So I'd gross maybe $300-$400 a week from those sales.
But then I'd go into a flap because my story was, 'No one wants to buy from me' because I wasn't being flooded with orders 😭😭😭😭
(SIDENOTE: I was used to being flooded with leads and hitting $20k months - so I had high expectations, but when I lost my date coaching business in 2015, I completely lost my way)
So I'd stop selling.
I'd withdraw.
Feel like shit for a week.
Sit in chronic anxiety.
Avoid work for a while.
Then when I started to come good, I'd create another course.
If THAT didn't work (after 30 attempts), I'd 'business hop' (i.e. start a whole new business thinking that was the solution. HINT: It's not. The problem is still there. But I became EXCELLENT at branding... so there's always a plus side 😉).
This pattern went on for 6 years.
Blinded By A Poor Money Mindset
And this is what happens when our thoughts aren't aligned with our reality... we sabotage the good things because they don't fit the crappy narrative we've created for ourselves.
If you're so blinded by a scarcity-based money mindset... where the anxiety is completely taking over your body...
It becomes so consuming...
that you don't even see the opportunities hitting you in the face like a wet fish...
instead you burn it all to the ground.
Money Impatience Is A Hell Of A Thing
Our desires move faster than our brain. It's easy to just declare, 'I wanna be a millionaire'...
the tricky part is then selling it to the part of you who doesn't believe it.
So you have tons of conditioning baked in that fights against that desire (it's like that friend who shits on everything positive you say). *None of my friends do that, they're awesome 😍
If your desire is to make a million... but your unconscious mind is wracked with fear around money (or sales), then it'll create massive amounts of friction in your body.
Your impatience to reach that goal (or even just pay your bills) triggers the unconscious dragnet even more.
This creates an internal tug-o-war between your Success Part vs. Your Fear Part.
And these 2 are at war, which is triggering swathes of anxiety in you.
Different thoughts + emotions are competing in your mind...
and screwing up your income.
